HP Apollo Series 700
Model 750 PA-RISC Workstation
Overview
The PA-RISC-based HP Apollo Series 700 Model 750 offers
industry-leading performance and expandability in a deskside system.
Performance at 77.5 SPECmarks, 76.7 MIPS, and 23.7 MFLOPS, along with
large RAM and disk capabilities, make the Model 750 ideal for the most
demanding applications. You can also configure the Model 750 as a
shared computational resource, file server, or as a database server.
Integrated graphics options include 2D/3D color (CRX),
high-performance 24-bit 2D/3D wire-frame (CRX-24), an advanced 3D
modeling and rendering system (CRX-24Z) and super-high performance
graphics (TVRX). All deliver the fastest X Window performance in the
industry. CRX delivers leadership 2D/3D vector performance and CRX-24
delivers leadership 24-plane performance. CRX-24Z and TVRX are ideal
for solids modeling, rendering, and visualization.
HP also offers PowerShade, which enhances the performance and
functionality of your existing graphics hardware. With this 3D surfaces
software you gain the power of dynamic lighting and shading while
leveraging the high-speed performance of your system.
The Model 750 supports the HP-UX UNIX operating system. In addition,
it provides the best ease of use through the HP VUE user interface,
based on OSF/Motif.
HP offers the widest range of mass storage and peripheral options
for servers so you have the flexibility to configure your system to
meet your exact needs. For example, the Model 750 includes the power
and flexibility of 4 EISA expansion slots, large internal mass storage
and memory capacity. The Model 750 also has an integrated I/O
subsystem, which includes IEEE 802.3/Ethernet, SCSI-2, Centronics, two
RS-232 ports, and HP-HIL. Additional FDDI, 802.5, and X.25 connectivity
are provided by optional plug-in EISA cards, providing you with full
access to the network and distributed computing.
